HR Generalist (Contract)

Onsite | East Baltimore, MD

Contract - Indefinite (Anticipated 4-6 months)

Pay Rate: $28-$32/hour (flexibility, dependent on experience)

About the Company

Our client is a well-established food manufacturing organization serving customers nationwide. This role is fully onsite, with the HR office located directly adjacent to the manufacturing facility.

Position Overview

The HR Generalist will provide hands-on HR support across multiple sites within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working onsite, managing both tactical and consultative HR responsibilities, and supporting production-based teams.

This role is expected to start in early May to allow for training and overlap, with continued support needed through the summer months.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support all core HR functions, including:
    • Recruiting and talent acquisition
    • New hire onboarding and orientation
    • Employee relations support
    • HR compliance and multi-state considerations
  • Administer FMLA and leave management for employees
  • Partner with leaders across plant and office environments
  • Provide HR administrative support such as:
    • Preparing new hires for day one (e.g., ordering laptops/equipment)
    • Assisting with employee events and recognition initiatives
  • Maintain accurate HR records within the HRIS and ensure data integrity
  • Support a multi-site, production-focused organization with a strong onsite presence

Qualifications

  • Required: Prior HR experience in a manufacturing or plant/production environment
  • Experience supporting multi-site organizations
  • Well-rounded HR generalist background, including employee relations and compliance
  • Experience administering or supporting FMLA and leave processes
  • Comfortable working onsite and engaging directly with employees and leadership
  • HRIS experience required (Paycom preferred, but not required)
